Where is my data going?

This and last month, my data allowance has dissapeared quickly before the end of month is reached. What is exede doing that is causing this??? My Internet use as far as downloads or video streaming has decreased dramatically, why is my data then being exhausted so quickly.

Nef, you are not being overcharged by Exede. You are paying the rate you agreed to. What is probably happening to your data over the past few months are those windows 10 updates that Microsoft has been pushing though in the background. Just two days ago they had an update that was 1.7 GB, a few weeks ago the update  was 2.4 GB.

If you send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com, they will give you a breakdown of where your data is being used. Be sure to include your phone number and your account number in the email.

when it happens over and over constantly, updates can't be blamed, some people only turn it on duering the free zones and it still happens. some people do not even use windows 10 and it still happens..

I Agree, I go on during free zone and force the updates and we do that with the other 2 computers.  Peak hours are only use for checking email and light browsing. But today my VPN data counter stated that I used 1.9 GB but exede states I use 5GB. I feel like i am being screwed.

Happening to me too! I'm not even home hardly at all and my data is gone in a matter of days. On top of it, I have never seen the "$100" Visa prepaid gift card that I was promised when I signed up for this cable and internet package! So far, I must say that I am not the least bit impressed with this dish and internet service. I see why they make you sign a two year commitment, because they would go out of business if they could not lock you in or make you pay copious amounts of money to get out of this "contract". I thought I had it bad with the cable company ? ?? Jokes on me apparently.

hotshot1 is just here to stir up excitement. He is on cable, and not a satellite internet user. Also, he doesn't seem to understand that Directv is owned by AT&T and Exede is owned by ViaSat. It was Directv that made a deal that they did not fulfill.

I might have had to get it where I was thinking about moving to.

With all the negative crap I've read about Exede, I won't be stupid enough to waste money with them.
