Why does it feel like my internet is being throttled since the past few days.

Since Tuesday my internet has been feeling like the 150 gb plan when it is over the data limit when I have gold unlimited. Can't use more than two devices. Also even when it wasn't like this and it was fine I was getting 600+ ping connecting to US servers, which shouldn't be because I live in the US, should be under 100.

  • mad that the latency to servers isn't what I expected.

The satellite you are connected to is 22,500 miles away from earth. There is no possible way (as we are limited by the law of physics) to get lower than around 500-600 ping on satellite internet right now. It takes about 500-600 ms for light to travel round trip from your location to the satellite and vice versa. This is the major drawback to satellite internet. You're not going to see low latency numbers with satellite, even if you have a fast download speed. Your location does not matter for purposes of latency on satellite.

That's right!  The ping measures how long it takes for a request to reach it's destination and return an answer, but the download speed isn't necessarily effected.

If you're seeing slow speeds, I suggest calling Customer Care at 855-463-9333.  They can troubleshoot with you, and determine if you need a service call to correct a hardware issue.
