Have you gone to the dashboard https://account.viasat.com and viewed the bill. It shows all the details.

Mine went up exactly $4.20 for the month of January. It's an annual property tax. The February bill won't have that Tax on it.

Kind of strange since the only annual property tax we pay in Louisiana is on real estate.

My guess is this is a tax Viasat has to pay in their home state for the equipment we lease. It just gets passed along to us.

I would recommend checking account.viasat.com to see your itemized bill.

If you didn't change your plans or buy more data last billing cycle that would otherwise affect your prorated billing it's most likely the Annual Property Tax Recovery Fee.

Without fail typically this time of year when it's collected we get a lot of questions. It's a 1 time annual charge that usually sticks between 3-6 dollars depending on where you live.

My bill went up $4.20 also. It's a state or county tax that is paid 1 time a year. I went back to last year and it was there also..... It's called a Annual Property Tax Recovery Fee.

I'm thinking this equipment must be owned by someone in Colorado.  I can't see any other logical explanation for the $4.20 property tax charge.
