I need more speed. Can't stream video without frequent pausing for buffering.

First thing to check is the playback options on the services you are using.  Netflix, YouTube, Hulu...
Go into your account and make sure you have the playback set to Auto.  You should be able to stream at speeds less than 2mbs.

Even with the extender on, which some have said they like, streaming at 1-1.5 is no problem if the user has things done right on their end. Heck, some people can't stream at 7mbs.  And some never will be able to, just the way it is. All we can do is try to help those that want help.

Same problem here. Less than 2 Mbps. According to tech support it is because of network congestion. Isn't this service a great deal for the money?

It's that way for all of us in prime time.  Might as well complain about the color of the sky for all the good it will do you.  If they were to limit the customer base to give all of us unlimited internet on demand at the full 12Mb it would cost you $800 a month for service as the gateway could only support a very limited amount of customers and guarantee them all 12Mb.

Viasat service is very poor right along with the elementary level of support offered. :)
