As has been reported on here, I would look for the end of January/February time frame for Viasat-2 to be open for customers. It should reach final orbit sometime in October, then testing will take a few months.

I was told when I signed up it would be online by October and data allowance would be doubled or tripled for the same price. Hopefully everything will go as planned and this will happen by the first of the year as you have heard.

October was the original plan but, SpaceX had a heavy lift rocket blow up right before the original launch date of Viasat 2 so, the launch had to be moved to Arianne Space and, that meant a delay of several months.

Viasat 2 was launched in June, it is nearing it's final orbit now and, then, a few months of testing to get it fully online and, be sure it works as designed, then it will go into service. That should be early 2018, assuming all goes as planned from here on out.

Hi Dc68,

Unfortunately the above replies are correct. The new plans won't be available until the beginning of next year (which is just a few months at this point). In the meantime we may see some areas be tested, other areas may see things like Freedom plan open so we should see some stuff in the meantime.
