when my son tried to use our internet service here in our home, it says the wifi is hidden...how do we fix that?

Little more context please. Do you have a router or is it the Viasat modem?

What interesting is that HN has a modem that broadcasts a hidden WiFi channel that can't be connected to.  It's strictly for use by a proprietary device, but it still shows up when devices search for available WiFi connections.

Yea. I have some of those proprietary networks in my house. They transmit the HD signal to multiple TV's.

Linda, basically that means your network is not broadcasting the SSID. The network name. That network name(SSID) is what your son needs, in addition to the password, to log in.
