Is the credit check performed for a new customer considered a soft or hard pull? In other words will the credit check show up as an inquiry on the credit reports?

Hi Nathan,  it is a soft credit check and will not show up as an inquiry.

I can confirm that, had it done 3 times now - switching account types :) Step son just had it for a new install too. It doesn't show as an inquiry and, doesn't drop your credit score.

Just trying to help people use up their priority data.  I'm from New Orleans so the one I posted is legit.  Believe it or not, its part of our culture just as much as K&B Drugs and Tastee Donuts.

Now if you want to see a really epic commercial do a YouTube search for Red House Furniture.  The Red House commercial isn't related to the title of this thread though, so I'm not going to share the link.

There was no credit check at all with me.  Just gave them a credit card number and was set up automatically for monthly billing.

Me either for the initial sign up but, that was with WildBlue 15 years ago. There was when I went to a business plan, then back to residential and, probably when I went from 12 Mbps to 25 Mbps (new modem and all.)

Then again I was at the conference of Champions last year so, Viasat probably has a book on me in my account notes by now LOL. (If not just ask my step son guys. LOL and, by the way, anyone form Viasat is allowed to tease that boy over dropping a tree on my dish - yep he's the one that did that to me.. He will never live that down. LOL)

I can confirm that Viasat did in fact check my credit with a soft inquiry. Just looked at credit report today and it’s listed as Wildblue communications.
