What Is Using My Data

We had a 15g limit for years and stayed in it 9 out of 10 cycles, and now we just raised our data limit to 25 and are struggling not to exceed it. Same devices, only husband and wife. Not understanding what's using the data once we increased our data limit. Exede should be able to see the IP addresses connected to the gateway, may grant customers access to see it.

Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: How do I determine which devices are using data on my account?.

Guy, Exede is working on a new tool to allow us to see what is using our data. In the meantime, you can email exedelistens@viasat.com and request a usage review. They will be able to give you a better idea of where your data is being used.

In the last few years the internet has become increasingly data hungry. More ads, move embedded, auto loading, auto playing videos, better graphics, higher resolution images and, more of everything. Just a few years ago most webpages were mostly text, now they are loaded with video, images and sound. The internet is geared to unlimited data usage, a lot of that is bloat that doesn't need to be there but, it is visually ot audibly appealing to the masses, so website designers use it.
