Just go to Bing.com, search for  "What is my IP Address" and it will show you what it is.

It's dynamic, so it will change once in awhile.
Computer should be set up to "obtain IP address automatically"

In Windows it's at:
Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Local Area Connection>Properties>Internet Protocol Version4>Properties

It's not entirely clear form the question which IP address is being referred to nor why. There are a couple different ones involved.

Since you reference a factory reset for your husband's tablet, you may be asking for the local network IP address that is assigned by your router (it's common to ask that question within that context). Typically this is assigned dynamically by your router; however, some tablets (mostly Android) have historically had difficulty dealing with dynamically assigned IP addresses and it's been popular to manually assign a static IP address though the router's DHCP configuration utilities.

More than likely you're looking for a local network IP address whether that be the one assigned or the local network IP address for the router.

Regardless, knowing what or why you need it would yield a targeted answer - context matters ;)
