WiFi is simply wireless connectivity, at whatever speed your modem and router supply. Boost 25 means the modem witll give you up to 25Mbps speed rather than the up to 15 Mbps speed the non boost modem offers. The Boost 25 modem also includes a built in router for wifi and, build in phone jack for Exede Voice, if you want that service as well. The non boost modem requires a separate router, which you would need to own for wifi connectivity and, if you want Exede Voice, Exede would need to send you a separate voice adapter for that.

Unfortunately satellite internet requires a fixed dish so mobile  WIFI is not a ViaSat option. I would look at a 4G  hotspot device for travelling. Most of the major carriers offer these. They are also available from Walmart and other similar outlets.  Some are monthly and others can be data recharged as required.

Mary, when traveling, most hotels have free wifi, most truck stops have pay as you go internet access available. Some campgrounds like KAO also offer wifi. If you are an occasional or seasonal traveler, that may be all you need.
