What Happened To My Free Zone?

I would have sworn it said 3 to 8.  I checked my usage since yesterday was my first billing day and I'd used way more than I would have imagined, considering I take advantage of the Free Zone, WHICH HAS CHANGED!  Free Zone is now 3 to 6 on current plans, so now I have remorse as there is no going back to the plan I was on before.

A 2 to 8 freezone is offered, Elsewhere, but Viasat is supposed to be better and or get better, etc etc.  Well that's the rumor anyway.

I really only have the one question, why take away what I liked the most?

This sure isn't a Praise message!  It's a bummer that it's a crap shoot as to whether you can go back to your old plan if you change plans or go on vacation/hibernation mode.

That age old moral of the story, "there are no guarantees", applies here!

I'm disappointed.

To the best of my knowledge there has never been a "free zone" on the freedom plan since I signed up for it a year or two ago. Even with the "unlimited" plans they do limit bandwidth depending on usage of priority data users after you reach 150GB. The only thing I can say is there is no national satellite service provider that I am aware of that offers a 150GB plan. Switching plans is a "crap shoot". And you have to think about it because as you say, the plan you were on may not be there when you try to go back. I really do think they should let you return to your old plan at the next billing cycle.

What plan are you on?  Did you just come back from the Hibernation plan?  If you can send your account info to ViasatListens@viasat.com, we can take a look and see what's going on!

Thanks Matt.  I was on Essential 10 w/Boost and WiFi and I have had to buy an extra gig for the past two months and a while back I checked out the other plans and the free zone times hadn't changed. When I did choose to upgrade to the Liberty 12 Boost 25 for the 2 extra gigs at the same price, I obviously didn't notice that the free zone wasn't from 3 until 8 as it was on my previous plan, and it had changed across the board to 3 to 6 AM. Since I hadn't realized that until this morning, I used more data than I would have. I did plan to use the Hibernation mode when I went back to Puerto Rico for an extended stay, knowing that I would only have the options of what plans were available when I returned here again, so it was inevitable that I would encounter some changes from what I was used to.

Again, Thanks, but I don't think I wish to return to the Essential 10, even if the 3 to 8 feature was also restored. The free zone feature was the reason I chose the plan I had, since I'm nocturnal and it was perfect for people like me.
