Why is it always impossible to buy an extra Gig off of their website and always having to resort to making a phone call?

Because viasat uses salesforce and it needs hand holding at all times. It should have the internal resources to make such a site in house. But its mostly managers running viasat with point and click interfaces and blaming 3rd party vendors....email and phone I am looking at you.

Because Viasat workers get lonely and they need someone to talk to. Or just take it as another sign of the quality customer service you can expect from Viasat.

What data plan are you on?  Liberty (and other legacy) plans should have the option through https://account.viasat.com and the mobile app.  If you have one of the Unlimited plans, Buymore is not available.

It's just a guess but it seems they are calling thru the phone and buying more based on their comments.

Right now, with a supposed speed of up to 10 Mbps, I am having 100 Kbps and it's really slow.  Sometimes your website takes 2 or 3 minutes to load when I have not run out of data.  The grey sits there with the little thingy spinning in the middle and is really frustrating.  Now I have 688 Kbps and it just went to 7.7 Mbps.  Very inconsistent.

The Viasat account mgt page is the slowest site of any of the 100's of sites I interact with weekly. That is a damn sad state for a technology company. It is not even in the top 100k websites for traffic. Hell my own site gets 2mil unique's a month and it's run off 3 servers and loads 85% faster.

So calling in is faster than waiting a minute for admin page to load?

The acct mgt site looks at several different servers in succession to gather all the data & tools it makes available.
I agree it is a slow loader...
