When is this other modem router issue going to be addressed??? Look at this report from the Viasat app. I have a single iPhone on my network. Everything is working fine but this is what is reported. Multiples of a single device. Scrambled device names. Slack. Really slack. Mind you this is after the new firmware update this week.

There are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know
I think we're dealing with the latter on this one.

Does it really matter?  I could care less what that app says it sees on wifi.  Who cares?

Their app tells me to reset my modem all the time. My internet is fine. Maybe a clitch in the app.

TQ, since the latest firmware update the app also tells me there is a problem communicating with the modem and wants a reboot as well. All the while everything is operating properly.

Jim, I care. The tool was provided for a purpose and I prefer it work properly. When monitoring your home remotely to insure surveillance and security is operating properly it’s a beneficial tool when it works correctly. Some of us have homes way out in the woods that we can’t go to regularly. And connecting remotely to remedy problems from time to time can be difficult. Lastly if you don’t care that’s fine, but what I’m wondering is why you cared enough to reply.

You post about every little thing that pops up. Before, it was crying about when VS2 would be up.  Now that you have your VS2, you seem to think we all need to know every little thing that bothers you about it.  You must have lots of ulcers.

Jim, really , just ignore my posts and I’ll ignore yours. Reporting a modem issue is precisely what this forum is about. I’m ulcer free, but sounds like you might have some.

This is how you report an issue?  ( I think we may have found your problem.  You don't know the proper way to ask for help or report a problem)

I appreciate updates on the toblerone modem. When I read them it convinces me I want nothing to do with it right now.

Thank you for saying so. And I knew I’d be a guinea pig to some degree jumping onboard so early and I’m ok with that. I share my experiences so that they can be remedied. If everyone just said “who cares” about all the little glitches could you imagine where we’d be right now?!

One criticism I have of Viasat is I don't think they do a very good job of beta testing in the field with a select group of users. It's no big deal. Have a group of users sign a NDA, record their experiences, and report back to a group of engineers their findings.

Nope.  I don't want to be getting anyone in trouble from their replies to one of my posts.

Because he has a Viasat Retailer Agreement (DuckDuckGo is your friend) which more than likely allows either party to terminate it with or without cause and sufficient notice - and I assume he still has to eat and pay the bills.

Andy is pretty resourceful. I am not sure how much of his business is tied to Viasat.

I mean he survived Radio Shack. He can survive satellite internet.

Probably so, but he's also smart enough to not give up income and cut off his nose simply to spite his face until he's got it covered - its always best to move on on your own terms not someone else's.

I mean he survived Radio Shack.
We still have a Radio Shack in our small, nearby town.

I guess its phone business keeps it limping along, because other than in cases of emergency, I can't imagine anyone actually buying any of their very overpriced merchandise, though the community does try to buy local.

There are times when it pays to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.......THIS is one of those times.

I'll get a better feel for things at the next Council meeting.
