Good Afternoon,

I wanted to post another review. I have been seeing speeds as high as 60MBps on gold 30 on VS1.

So far the service is working correctly depending on the time of day.

Thanks again for being able to replace my crap DSL service.

My next question is. What happens to the customers who can't move to VS2 or 3 when VS1 closes and gets retired? I have not seen anything for VS2 service in my area yet. Worried would be forced to switch to another ISP.

ViaSat 1 is bound to last for quite a while.  After all, Wildblue 1 is still being used!

When the lease ended on AMC-15, we sent out techs to repoint and reprovision Wildblue customers to one of the other two satellites, or upgrade to Exede service.  I suspect we'd do the same were ViaSat 1 to be retired.

I have also noticed people saying viasat does not want to service home users. Is this going to be true or just hear say. i am happy with the service provided.

People will say almost anything on the internet.

I do not believe that Viasat is willing to give up the over 576,000. subscribers, and the income that brings in.

Unless one of the corporate employees, a moderator, puts that in writing here, I jus considerate to be "fake news".

No. But they could determine that residential internet is not in the long term goals for Viasat and spin it off. Companies do that all the time.

Probably bad. They would still launch the satellite and provide the tech, but there would be another middle man selling and servicing. I mean the NRTC already is a reseller. Dish Net was at one time too. Maybe still is.

Where are you located pulling that good of speed on V1? A sparsely populated area or in an area nobody buys satellite internet?

Must be the middle of Atlanta.

I’d just once like to see the speed I get “up to”.

So yea. Doesn't sound like a lot of Viasat users in your beam, so you get good speeds.
