I am trying to get my company VoIP Mitel Phone to work with my Exede Satellite service and the phone is not able to find our company server. Exede says I have a good signal and the phone should work. Yet, when I take the phone to a place that has a cable internet service the phone works fine. So, any input would be great??

Okay no problem. They would be the ones to help with getting your phone up and running. You can call and connect to them by dialing 866-945-3258 or if it's more convenient for you, I can give you a call and connect you myself.

Because you are not using the Exede VOIP, I do not believe the above is true.  It is unlikely they will be able to help you.  However, I have a lot of experience in this area using another 3rd party service called Ring Central, which works fairly well over the Exede network.  However, there is a slight delay and the voice quality can fluctuate on the customers side depending on your upload speed.

What it sound like to me is just a simple solution of contacting your companies IT Department who handles the VOIPs and ask them to help you open the ports in your wireless router.  With most wireless routers you need to open the ports up to allow the phone to communicate.

One thing you can try to as a test.  Power down your phone, plug the ethernet cable directly into the Exede Modem, and then power up allowing the phone to exclusively grab the IP address directly from the Exede Modem.  It may take several minutes for it to establish a link with your companies VOIP server.  If this works then this tells you for sure it is a blocked port in your wireless router.

If not then you need to contact Exede Technical Support and have them submit a ticket for a network engineer to see what is going on.  Especially if you can take it to another internet provider and it works, they may need to take a look.  But my suspicions is the router.  Try the above and let me know how it goes!

Thank you for your reply. I tried going straight into the modem from the VoIP phone and it still did not work. I was thinking about purchasing a higher end router. Currently have the basic Linksys router.

Hi Austin,  Please contact your VoIP manufacture.  They should be able to walk you through the process. Since this is not a ViaSat product, we do not have the ability to troubleshoot the cause.
