Video Streaming from Netflix/Amazon Appears Blocked?

The post(below) was just sent to exedelistens@viasat.com. I would appreciate feedback from anyone that is currently (or in the past) seeing similar behavior:

I experienced outstanding service during the recent blizzard: very
high data speeds, no problem streaming video during "Early Bird Free Zone", and even Exede Voice modem worked without requiring
unplugging/reset (which I normally have to do almost everyday). Simply amazing!!! Makes me suspect congestion (too many users) is the main reason for slow speeds and voice modem dropouts: NOT unusual weather or inherent problems with satellite Internet technology.

After the storm, I attempted to stream on Netflix/Amazon during
"EBFZ" and got error message in both cases, though everything else on websites was accessible. Speedtest showed under 3.0 Mbps download; upload is almost always under 0.45 Mbps. I assumed emergency restrictions were put in place to maintain service because of unusual demand following the big snowstorm.

Days later, I still see the same blocking behavior. Speeds are now
usually above 6.00 Mbps, and often higher. Even during NON-ebfz time, around 9:30 AM EST, exactly the same block is experienced when testing the streaming services.

I have always remained well below my data quota of 5 gigs during
over one year of Exede service. I'm at less than 1 gig usage this
month's period. It seems my account is being "DAP'ed"? From what I
researched on forums, this appears to be what results. I found no
recent reports or update message on your website explaining this new behavior.

Please tell me what is happening.

  Regards,

Hi LoneSwan,  Thank you for letting us know about your experience during the snow storm and  service since.  Please send your account and contact information to exedelistens@viasat.com so we can determine what is going on with your account. ViaSat does not block Netfllix or Amazon.

Thanks to Exede "Brad" for his prompt response to my inquiry. He tested my modem speed and found it to be more than enough for streaming at ~18.0 Mbps. This is at least as fast as I have ever seen reported on my end. He checked my account and saw no restrictions in place. Also, confirmed what Exede "Diana" stated that Amazon/Netflix streaming is _not_ blocked by Exede's servers.

I tried last night and my old(2010) WDTV Live Plus media player streamed Netflix, though it got stuck at 25% for 12 seconds before the buffer continued to complete loading. Perhaps the Amazon Fire TV device I was using is too aggressive in making connection and gives up quickly?

Thanks to "Sonya" for confirming Amazon Prime still works for Exede users. I tested the Fire TV this morning and it worked with Amazon Prime Video.

I contacted Amazon to find out why the network status tool they detail on Help webpage cannot be accessed with my Fire TV (generation #1). This tool (or similar) could give a better clue to where the connection is failing.

It now appears that the problem I experienced  is not due to intentional blocking, but some type of connection failure along the route. I'll post back when/if I have new information.

P.S.: This forum software is a major *PAIN*! I had to rewrite this message because it failed to submit, and did not allow going back. It also caused frustration on the original post, because it has a preview function, but no return to _edit_ errors found in preview: it dumped back to a blank message window. I have to "cut & paste" to Notepad(text editor) to insure I have a saved copy in case it bombs. I suggest Exede management considers using another forum provider. W
