How’s this for service my power supply to the modem failed I called Viasat for service. Their reply was a service appointment is not available yet we’ve been kinda busy we’ll get back to you within 48 hours. Finally after 3 weeks a service rep showed up to replace the power supply."For everyone's information since Jack Tors has cancelled his Viasat service: Viasat installers are 3rd party companies separate from Viasat and they don't work for Viasat. The problem Jack Tors is describing is due to the 3rd party installer he had. A Viasat customer who has such a problem with their installer can request that Viasat do a sales channel change to an installer for their area who will give them proper service. WRONG WRONG WRONG! Viasat would not transfer my account to another service contractor they said there was no one else that could service my system in NEPA. My current provider was 1 hour away from my site. So that’s bull**** when your paying $130 a month for service.

unfortunately viasat is a surprisingly little fish in the internet world, so they rely on 3rd party contractors such as goodman/mastec/directsat to install and service their systems.

i dont even know if there are any inhouse viasat techs...

I dont believe so. And for dealers to survive they have to install multiple services

Not all dealers are created equal. The "Viasat" Elite dealer in my area, I wouldn't let dig a hole in my yard for a post, let alone trust to install a system!
