If you still have the 150 G Silver plan, ypu are deprioritized way before you reach 150G threshold. With these unprecedented times Viasat bandwidth is stressed to the max. Feel free to move to an alternate carrier if one is available in your area.

Satellite internet is not meant to be used like hardwired broadband. As said above satellite internet is stressed at unprecedented levels these days with bandwidth a finite source. Adding bandwidth is very expensive and time consuming. They can't just put up more towers or run more cable.

But they could have limited their subscription base.  They could have thought this through.  They had to know they had more subscribers than available bandwidth.  This is on Viasat.

It's unfortunate that ViaSat didn't plan for the worst pandemic in over 100 years.  After all, had they done so and saved a considerable portion of their bandwidth for such, I'm sure the much smaller customer base wouldn't have minded paying much higher prices to cover the lost revenue.
