I have uninstalled and then reinstalled the Viasat browser numerous times because my anti-virus program will attack it. That said, upon re-installation the bookmarks, passwords, etc all reinstall also because they are backed up on under my Google chrome account settings.  The Viasat browser is just a chrome browser version.
Also, consider taking a chill pill.  A calm, deliberate, rational approach to problem solving will consistently yield better results.

Thanks Charles. I agree that bookmarks/passwords should be restored on reinstall but I just want to point out that the Viasat browser does not share local state with Google Chrome. So, for instance, if you add a bookmark to Google Chrome it will not show up in the Viasat Browser and vice versa.

You shouldn't feel stupid.  A lot of people wouldn't have thought of that.

Back when I was a Heating & A/C tech I had a few "no heat" calls in which the problem turned out to be that the people didn't flip the switch on their thermostat to "On".  Now THAT's stupid!  $72 worth of stupid.  LOL.

Why wasn't it working?  Because you didn't turn it on.  DERP!

I also am using  free avast antivirus and as stated before it will periodically disable the via-sat browser.  I have to uninstall completely and then do a complete reinstall of the browser but only after first turning off Avast antivirus, otherwise it detects it as a bad boy virus and won't allow it to install.  Rather annoying after a few dozen times.

Just a quick update, the browser team has reached out to Avast to apply to be whitelisted by Avast Antivirus (https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/229/). We'll let you know when we've heard back. In the meantime, we will update our FAQ with the incompatibility reported here and how you have worked around it. Thanks!
