Viasat 2 plans

I have been calling and sometimes emailing every week or so since February about the new Viasat 2 plans.  Today I was told that my 2 month old hardware would all have to be replaced to use Viasat 2 and that they did not have the hardware at this time.  What???  When it was installed in February I was told that Viasat 2 should be available within a couple of months and that I did not have to get new hardware.  Today she also said that the 2 year contract would start over with the new hardware.  I am still not clear on if it is available in 65714 area.  
I wish they would get their act together and everyone on the same page. 

Every time you speak to someone they give you a different story........

I can correct a couple things.

First, if you move from Viasat-1 to Viasat-2, you will need new equipment.

Second, when you move to Viasat-2, you will be required to fulfill a 2 year commitment or pay an early termination fee.

This is correct.  Moving to a Viasat 2 beam will require a new modem and TRIA, as well as repointing your dish.  

As for whether or not VS2 plans are available, you can email us with your account information, or call Customer Care!  ViasatListens@viasat.com

yes, well I did call today and she said you did not have the hardware available.

When it is available you should call in and speak to the customer retention department or right their bs email here and ask them to give it to you without a contract extension because thats what you were offered in the first place.

Stephen, again, it depends on who you talk to.  We are unable to stream a movie most of the time.  My connections vary from 3.0 to 15.0 on download, and the upload is always less than 1.   I work from home and have issues on my soft phone.  Right now I am paying for unlimited UP TO 30 Mb (which we never see).  Prioritized after 100.  Another tech who stated she was on the transition team said alot of my issues that I see will go away on the new system.  More than 1 person can use the internet at a time, I will be able to stream movies again.  I should be able to talk on a soft phone, etc.  Why shouldn't I????

Speeds of 3mbs are the streaming speeds on the Gold Plan.  You should have no issues with streaming, unless you have several people streaming at a time.  Make sure you're playback settings are on AUTO for Netflix and Youtube.  3mbs is more than enough for streaming on a big screen TV.  I do it all the time.

And just because a person says all your issues will go away moving to Viasat-2 doesn't mean all your issues will go away.

Start with what Jim says above and see if that makes a difference.

If you can't make a VOIP phone call with 3 mbps down and 1 mbps up, Viasat 2 isn't going to fix your problem.

Yep. Could be a latency issue with whatever device he has.
