I am currently paying $20 more per month than I did with the cable company and am only getting MAYBE 1/4 of the service.  I am so darn mad that I have to pay to get out of a contract for service that was crappy from the first!!  I now know why Exede forces everyone to sign a contract!!  If they didn't, they would so be out of business!!  
I go to college online and have had to LEAVE my home, get in my truck, drive to my parents home, and finally get to do my schoolwork!!!  And for that I have to pay over $90 per month!!  Exede Internet is simply a legal way to screw the unsuspecting public!!  If the company was so HONEST in their dealings, then why hold customers to a contract when they know within the first month that their customers are not happy with the service?  Is Exede that uncaring?  I have to believe they are.  Just look at all the complaints!!!  I will tell anyone I know NOT to get involved with such an unethical company!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply Bobbie.  However, I have been with and have had problems with Exede since Feb 2015.  The only response I get is how sorry they are that I'm not happy.  While I appreciate the remorse, nothing had ever changed!!  I face the same bad service and the same bill every month!!

I completely understand Dawn and wish there was something I could do but I can't get mine working consistently. It's all part of satellite I guess maybe soon we can be happy campers. :)

With the exception of not including my account number, the following is a copy of the email I sent to you Diana.
  
Hi Diana, I have discussed these issues with the company before and always get the same answer, “Soon you’ll be able to get UNLIMITED internet with our freedom plan.  Just keep checking our site”.  That is not a resolution.  The service I thought I was getting is nowhere NEAR what I am actually getting.  I have to leave my home in order to get my schoolwork done.  I am also sending my daughter to an online school.  So I will need to transport her to a place where she can get online without being “cut-off” during a lecture or a TEST the way I have been!
The only resolution I see, other than TRULY UNLIMITED data, is to end this contract!  I have tried to understand but cannot.  I simply don’t understand why a company would insist on keeping a client knowing how unhappy they are!  Especially, a client who has been unhappy from the start of the contract!!  Why does the company NOT offer a trial period?  I wouldn’t even mind paying for a month of service to see if it was a good fit for my family!  However, being STUCK with a company who apparently does not care if their customers are happy or not, is not what I would consider to be a good business practice!  Unless you can offer me truly unlimited internet for a decent price or cancel my contract without outrageous fees, I don’t really see how this situation will get resolved.  I do look forward to your response on how to best handle this situation!

I left the cable because I believed the internet thru Direct TV would be as good and have the option of being portable. My husband and I plan on travelling quite a bit in the near future!

You do realize that it's NOT portable in any way? Did you do any research before you signed a two year contract? I don't see why Exede should take a monetary loss because of this.

If you had the correct setup in your motor home why couldn't you use it when you stopped for the night or weekend. I see it all the time in the camp grounds.

Bobbie and David,
Whether or not it's portable at this time is not the issue. The issues at this time are: 
1.  I can't get my school work done without leaving my house for the lack of a dependable service.
2.  I lose signal daily, so I'm not getting what I am paying for.
3.  I don't understand why there isn't a small window of time that is available for those of us who are very dissatisfied with the service to cancel.
4.  According to Exede I use all of my allowed data in about 2 weeks!  I don't watch movies or do any gaming.  I am simply going to college online.
I have had trouble with this company since day 1 with no resolution.  And yes David, I do believe that Exede should take the loss because the service sucks in my area.  I'm not asking for any money back, only not to be forced to continue with a company who doesn't deliver what I believe is even decent service.

Getting cutoff. losing signal or frequent disconnects are not the norm - it sounds as if you may have an installation issue and the Exede moderator should be able to tell if there's something amiss with the install or modem using their remote tools - if so an installer visit is likely in your future.

However, your DirecTV reference, "I left the cable because I believed the internet thru Direct TV...", suggests a possibility of where your data may be going without your knowledge. The installer (particularly if a DirecTV installer) may have setup your DirecTV receiver to access your ViaSat modem via your router and thereby enabling DirecTV features that are known to exhaust your Exede data quickly since they use your internet connection not your DirecTV connection - I'd suggest ensuring that is not the case since it's bitten a number of DirecTV/Exede subscribers in the past. An easy way to prevent that is to simply change your router's password or establish one - assuming a wireless router.

I call BS on most of these unhappy people.. What Dum@a** would leave unlimited cable Internet to go to capped? And if you all are so unhappy go to another company. . I have been very happy and understand data. After being with a 20 gb with verizon. So why don't you all stop complaining and go somewhere esle? I personally think all the unhappy people are from other companies or getting paid to bicker about something they don't have. If I was exede I would have to have people sign in and use there acct number to log in to even prove they tried it or have it... All I imagine is a bunch of people from another country getting paid to take down a company. .

I am at peace. Or I would hide and not sign into my facebook acct. I have had cable.. dsl.. dial up.. 3g.. 4g verizon and if I had a chance to get cable again I would it just didn't make any sense to go to unlimited to capped. Me rude? Did you read your post. Instead of the "a" word should i just say you suck?

 I feel like this should be responded to by The Knight beings he is so quick to respond to the regulars conversations. Dawn came in a bit frustrated as we all have been at one time or the other and was helped by Diana then returned and showed her appreciation.  This is rare in itself. The least that can happen     . Someone should address Topeka in a negative way out of respect to the good things that happen in this forum. You go Dawn I'm pleased that Diana was able to get you all set up. I'm just sick of the bs in my email about this crap.. Guess I have to place it in my spam folder. It gets annoying! I've had exede for 8 months no problems been very happy. To hear people bicker when it strolls on the top of my phone in a email just gets on my nervous because they have no idea. Like I said it gets old and I will place this in my spam because I'm sick of seeing people who don't know better complain.

Another thing.. when I spend months trying to figure out if I to sign up or stay with verizon, hours upon hours researching this company I almost didn't because of all the negative that's placed on the web. So think what you wanna think about me it is what it is.

However, it would be nice as well as common courtesy for those who arrive unhappy and leave happy to actually comeback and state what the resolution to their problem was - even that may help someone finding themselves in similar circumstances - perhaps in this case it was as simple as stomping feet loud enough to get out of the contract and there's a non-disclosure agreement accompanying it ;)

Hey anyway. lol.. Digging it out of my spam I seen someone say suck.. ? Yeah that's what she wrote, exede sucks. Anyway... For the first in a long while I tried to download my itunes shows and wow after not trying that for a few months it kind of feels like dial up. On my speed tests I'm showing nothing over 3 mb for speeds. Yes people I was testy because if you have a chance for cable keep it! I don't! I loved verizon but money talks. Kind of sad.. I was happy till now when I have 8 shows to download leave and after 1.5 hours I get 175 mb downlaoded. Lucky I might soon be able to get high speed from a local dealer uncapped.. So Sad Trust Me don't respond because it's in my spam and I don't or won't feel like responding and I can only take so much keyboard worriar. Losers.. anyway.. ((have a nice day)) wtfh.. lol Being patient waiting for the change!! Sorry people humans make mistakes. .. lol However I did have "good faith" in exede after tonight and my task manager saying I'm getting .03 mb lucks running out. Don't say I'm doing this or that, like I said I know how data works and traffic.. finger crossed for a uncapped internet in the an while free zone bluh... should call it the daily up zone!! Now.. Such disappointment. .

Oh i remember you saying something about traveling. I use my phone with a hotspot. If you wanna travel and have internet verizon can do that for you. Like i said money talks but if you can get 4g lte it won't disappoint i use to play x box live on it and it's very mobile! Any or most smart phones have the ability to turn it into a wireless modem.

I feel your pain, as I'm in a similar situation. However, if I had TelCo or Cable access available, I'd dump Exede in a heartbeat!  I cannot imagine why anyone would ditch the reliability of wire-line internet access (TelCo / Cable), for satellite service.  I have no other choice, since AT&T abandoned my area in mid-2014.  The TelCo internet service at my workplace is much cheaper, and far better (faster and more reliable).

I doubt if there is hardly anyone here that wouldn't change to wired, practically unlimited internet if it was available. Unfortunately for us and fortunately for Exede that's not likely to change and cell phone internet is too expensive. I can't even get a landline phone if I wanted one as the wires here a messed up and Verizon refused to fix them. Things are going backwards, not forwards.
