1 trillion is a high number lol. It is a good company, but as with all companies there are areas to work on. Overselling beams is probably number 1. How about a stop on new subscribers for a while? Like two more months? Exede lost almost 40,000 subscribers last quarter and still made more revenue off existing subscribers.

Exede isn't a bad service, but definite room for improvement. And you are right Bradley, because of lost subs they have to generate more revenue with the new plans.

It will be interesting if Viasat-2 can peel off customers from Hughesnet. They have to come from somewhere!

I think ViaSat 2 will enable Exede to draw customers from HN if the rep of the current unlimited plans doesn’t kill public trust first lol. By March, the conversation will be very different indeed.

I’m beginning to think Stephen is a paid advertisement. I realize experiences vary, but it doesn’t take much looking around to see who the anomalies are.

No. I think he really feels that because he is on a beam that doesmt get bogged down when on Liberty Pass. While his beam might give him 5Mbps during prmetime on Liberty Pass, I get 1Mbps during primetime on my priority data! Not 18, not 12, not even 5. But I know and understand why.

Because the "Exede Experience" varies so much from location to location, to give the service overall such high ratings is a bit much.

I think Viasat 2 is going to give people speeds similar to what I get on a Liberty 12 plan.

Speeds all the way down to 1.3Mbps! You are almost down to my range. Of course you have downloaded 230+GB in the time period. I have downloaded under 2GB so in my time period :).

But yes. Viasat-2 will be a game changer. I expect at least Gold plans available for all. And maybe we will even get Platinum or Diamond Plans!!!!

I’d take a diamond for the same money. $150 is high enough for my tastes. $150 a month for truly unlimited data and 1080 streaming would be acceptable.

Why stop there?  A 100Mbps synchronous sub would be nice and then all that video going through a strainer would be a moot point.  Let us remember though, as nice as 100Mb may sound to us that survive on next to nothing, that speed is cause for a call out in many parts of the world.  I know I'll like VS-2 if I can actually bribe a tech into putting it on a solar-powered mountain-top site above me but I'm really looking for VS-3 to provide the stupid-fast plans.

I'm getting tired of this Get Satisfaction pgm messing with me like this. I click post and it shows up double, allows me to "like" my own stuff, has the "remove" link but only brings me back here again with a red line above the screen with a white dot with an "X" in it that re-loads the page too if clicked.

Wow, I can delete this one and then edit the second one, but not remove it.  I can also delete the edit but not the whole thing.

Stephen did that on purpose. He also steals your data allocation.

Raw garlic is pretty dang difficult to consume. What I like to do is take a whole bunch of garlic, and put it in a cast iron skillet with a little bit of olive oil in the pan. Then I sprinkle a little bit of Cajun seasoning on the garlic, and I put the burner on medium heat. Then I put a lid on the skillet, and I let the garlic get brown. After it has a nice brown crust, I put the heat on its lowest setting. I leave the low heat turned on for about 10 more minutes. After 10 minutes, I turn the heat off but I leave the lid on the skillet. I let it sit for another 20 minutes or so, and the result is amazing. The garlic is all yummy and gooey on the inside and taste like candy.

Yup !  He's guilty alright.  He also came along just as I was editing the second "event" above asking a mod to delete it but no, Stephen Rice, Champion, posted a second or 2 before me and it locked the post.    Garlic???  no, it's herb from the garden, now legal in California.

I'm pretty sure that raw crushed garlic is about a million times healthier, but garlic is just so much more yummy when it's caramelized.

Y'all made me hungry so, you know, I'm just going to leave all of the duplicate and, otherwise unwanted stuff here tonight @Craig

As for roasted garlic, fine time to get me wanting it since the element in my oven is out and, it's going to be next week before the replacement I ordered gets here. Hey CSM team, can we make @Sthephen Rice a cute little GARLIC avatar? XD

@ Bev,

I'm thinking it has to do with Firefox 57. This started after installing FF57.  I don't see what all the hype is about it being super-fast and all, it runs just about like all the previous versions.  Maybe it runs faster on slow computers?  Mine is as fast it gets when running Win-7 on AMD equipment.
Thanx in advance.  We used to have to wait until 6am for a fix-up and oh, the people that posted their personal stuff was amazing, here all night.

Mine started with Creator's Update back in April. Firefox 57 did aggravate me, used to like it but, now it works and looks like Edge or Chrome, or Sparrow and, Sparrow is faster by a bit.

Be glad when everyone can get Sparrow - it is a good browser.

With all the hype about Firefox Quantum (aka 57) being 2x faster, I just had to try it out.  Here is a screen capture showing the Viasat Sparrow browser vs. Firefox loading 10 sites over our satellite.  The same script is driving both browsers; Sparrow is on the left and Firefox is on the right.  The script clears the browser caches and then immediately loads the next site as soon as the page has finished loading.  When the faster browser finishes, a timer is started that measures how much time elapses before the slower browser catches up.

Spoiler alert - There is no contest.  The Viasat Sparrow browser is way faster.

That it is, I tried Firefox Quantum after using Sparrow for a while. Ho hum, let me just twiddle my thumbs while SlowFox loads the page.
