So, I have a BEFSR41 that wont work properly as a router.  It will be fine for a while then the connection will drop out, it did the same thing with the HN7000S on Hughesnet.  So, I am using it as a switch in the form of 3 computers and the modem on the 4 port switch wired.  Unlike the HN7000S, the modem wont do DHCP in a way that I can share files/printers , and recently on a computer restart that computer wont reconnect till I reset the router.

Is it due to updates ?  Should I buy a router that'll work properly when I can ?

TheName141, I am not the most tech savvy person on here, but I think contacting the router manufacturer would be a good start to make sure it is software updated and in order. Buying a router that will work properly is a good idea too but let's see what others have to say.

I updated the firmware years ago, and don't see another one here.

Mine is version 4.1

edit:

Pinky A: Thank you. While the system is verifying the Entitlement Status of your device, can you give me a brief description of your issue today? You: Yes, I am wondering if you can point me to the right link to update the firmware on the device? I haven't in atleast 3 years.Pinky A: I do apologize, the Firmware is no longer available due to the GPL rules( General Public License). The release of this Free copy is limited to a specific time and we need to comply with this License Agreement. You: So basically this model is no longer supported?Pinky A: Yes. Actually, this is one of our legacy devices and we no longer have updates. You: OK.

Looks like the BEFSR41 is no longer supported.
