I've had viasat for 4 years, runs well... recently started using Amazon workspaces VPN and have had very little issues. I'll be moving and upgrading to the viasat 2..can I expect the same quality? I've seen some viasat techblog talk about aws which sounds promising but I don't understand all the lingo. Thanks for your help

I don't use a VPN but, they are hit and miss, some work with Viasat Service, some do not. I assume that if it works on VS1 it will work on VS2 as well.

Usually latency is the issue with VPNs and, that does not change regardless of the satellite you are on.

I am more curious what plan you are getting moving to Viasat-2 vs. what plan you have today.

My plan is through Dish Network, 50GB for $90. I tried to just move my current service and was told I would need to switch to Hughes net since that is what they are currently selling. I know Hughes net will not work with my VPN, have tried it already. Will just go with the viasat $100 plan to start with. Do you have other recommendations for me?

I am sure Andy will do what he can for you. It's dealers like him who you want. Unfortunately, the local dealer in my area would push anything he could on you.

They said viasat 1 has been shut down so I can't get that installed and viasat 2 is having issues, being slow...not sure what to do. Heard about a wireless broadband that uses an ATT tower but I feel my ATT signal will be hit n miss even though the map shows 4g LTE reception. Can try it for two weeks and get most of my money back if it doesn't work..(restocking fee of $50). Anybody know when viasat 3 will be active?

V3 is currently scheduled for some time in 2020.
