I have only been online 1 -2 hrs a day for the last 3 days only looking at Facebook and checking my email and my usage says 1.2 percent.  I used to be able to surf the web all day every day and not use that much.  Why is this happening?

I shut down the computer when I am not using it so there shouldn't be a program running and using up my gb's without my knowledge if the computer is powered off.

The data isn't metered in real time.  A lot of times if it were to be unplugged, it'll finish the report of data usage as soon as it is plugged back in

I must be missing something.  If you used 1.2 percent of your data in 3 days,
you will use 12 percent of your data in 30 days.  What am I missing?  Do you mean 1.2 gigs?

Your computer was probably updating itself while you had it on.

Hi Sue, Today the internet is more complex. Every page has streaming videos, music and that takes up more data. If you move from page to page and not close the previous page you are on, then each page is using data while it is open.

Here is an article that might help when on Facebook and other sites; http://help.exede.net/articles/General/Data-tip-Disabling-video-auto-play-on-Facebook-and-other-site...

Please send an email if you need additional information to exedelistens@viasat.com. Have a great day!
