Unwarranted data consumption

My data is vanishing! 3 GB gone today in new cycle and I've been online less than 1 hour, NO video or youtubes! 3rd time this has occured, I call each time! No answers! What gives?

I've had this occur 2 or 3 times in the last couple months.  It appears to have only happened when my google chrome browser was open, but I can't connect the dots much more than that perception.

In general I've noticed that it seems to be a neverending daily/hourly battle to make 10 gigs last the month, moreso than it was in the past.

this is not the 1st time it has happened nor will it be the last, you will get a story on how someone is stealing your wifi or somehow you been getting windows 10 updates (regardless if you are using windows 8), nevermind if your lan cable is unplugged from the back of the modem for a week while your not home, you used that data according to them.

Are you running Windows 10? There was a cumulative update released not too long ago. I'd strongly advise going back to 7 until Microsoft remembers that some people have metered connections.

Other than that, you may have a rogue process sucking down data or a leech on your wifi.
