Unlimited Plan

Why do I need a new modem for the unlimited plan? And on that note, how does that work, they send me a new modem and I connect it myself? Do I still have my old service until I get the modem connected. Just thinking ahead as I will probably upgrade in the first part of 2018. The unlimited plans were gone for me a few weeks ago, but are now back, and hopefully still be there when I'm ready to upgrade. Thanks.

Hi James

We're more or less utilizing the new modems moving forward to align with our future goals and to update the modems we've been using for the last few years. I'm still in the dark so this is just my educated guess but I'd anticipate speedboost speeds to quickly become the norm in our near future with all new and upgradable plans following ViaSat 2's 2018 debut. Much like how Liberty became the norm for all classic plans. I think this is the direction our equipment will probably go.

Plans are here today gone tomorrow in a lot of cases. It may appear and disappear and reappear on and off for the next month or two but I think once the dust settles after the Viasat 2 debut they may be readily available in your area most times but that's something I absolutely cannot guarantee as they are made available depending on how busy your beam is.
