Im on Silver too and my current speeds are 18.65 and upload is 3.48! The reason I ask Is because Im curious if those on Bronze are throttled to around 12 mbps since those on silver arent getting 25 mbps! if there download speeds are about the same as silver is now I may go to bronze and save $30 a month and than see what is offered once viasat2 is operational

If you don't care about the video resolution, you are probably right.  And is dropping for 480 to 320 isn't as big as going from 720 to 480.  So if you are okay with 480 already, I doubt you will think 320 is unacceptable.

Yeah I dont care about resolution Just as long as I can watch what I watch now with the silver plan on the bronze plan! because some things I watch there is no option to change the resolution so I just watch it to whatever the site has it set to, before silver I had the freedom plan. But Im hesitate to change because if it buffers or what not Im scared if I try to go back to the silver it will be gone (or a higher price) like freedom was when I switched to Silver!

You should be able to switch as long as both plans are still available. You lost Freedom becayse Viasat wont sell it to customers anymore. People who have it can keep it, but most new gets it :(.

Bronze (actually I've only seen it offered as Bronze 12) differs in two aspects from Silver and Gold - "speed" and  video stream "optmization":

So I wouldn't be surprised to see overall lower download speeds on Bronze 12. FWIW, it appears that those days of being able to consistently pull much greater than 12 Mbps for those of us on 12 Mbps plans are  fading fast -  haven't seen those occasionally much higher speeds (e.g 16 Mbps or more) since the introduction of "unlimited" on my beam. That may eventually change with Viasat-2 "on the line" ;)

Whether that's through throttling or a consequence of higher loads is unclear.

Why do I suspect that we'll soon be seeing a Bronze 25 offering for $10 more per month (just as you could opt for SpeedBoost)?
In anticipation of the ViaSat-2 service launch, several weeks ago, we began testing new ViaSat-2-like service plans to the extent we can on ViaSat-1.

How else are they going to see what we actually do with Unlimited plans and, thus be able to make the best use of VS 2 when it comes online?

Best way to see what people will do IF is to give them the IF.

Speed is overrated, and since they are "up to", chances are you will get closer to the promised speed on Bronze vs. the promised speed on Silver or Gold more often.

I have read from some on here that take the lowest plan they can get because they dont feel the higher priced plans offer enough bang for what they cost. In some ways I tend to agree with that line of reasoning. For instance a Liberty twelve that gives you a free zone, no degraded video, up to 12 Mbps, and speeds betwern 1 and 5 Mbps after prime data is used is workable for some vs.paying three times more a month for the Silver plan.

When I had the freedom boost Plan sometimes around 7 am my download speed would sometimes be 42 mbps but usually most of the time it was around 30 mbps at 7 am and certainly during the afternoons it would be in the 20's and now with silver it will NOT go over 19 MBPS no matter what time of day it is! But the reason I switched to unlimited is because I was ALWAYS teethering of going over 150 MBPS But now I have 3 more people here that use the net so I had to get unlimited! Sooooooo Not really know what the speeds will be on bronze I guess I will stick with Silver and see what plans come out in 2018 Also my upload speed is a little higher than it was on Freedom so thats a bonus On freedom my upload would not go much over 3 but with silver at times its 5 mbps
