Unhappy with service

I've had EXEDE since December and will be breaking my contract with them in a few days once my new Internet provider hooks me up In a few days. I hate EXEDE. I began with Liberty 10 and 10 GB's lasted only 1 day with both if us. And after it was used up it was suppose to be 1-5 MPBS the remainder of the month, but after the first month it got much worse. It buffered every 2 minutes in the evening. It wasn't that way in the beginning. Plus the Internet always went out, even when it wasn't raining. It was time to eat the "break-contract" fee. Plus they don't give you anything for the 2-year prepaid modem that cost me $200 bucks! They just want it back. What a rip-off company! I'm glad I'm getting rid of EXEDE!

For some odd reason this thread is not taking comments or replies. So I will post my comment again. This reply is to wendybeamam1358. She said, "PLEASE DO NOT GET HUGHES NET. THEY ARE HORRID. I AM SWITCHING TO DISH"

My reply: No, I'm not switching to Hughes Net. I read plenty of horror stories about them. In fact, EXEDE is not for me either. Although I was aware of their slower speed once I used up my priority data, their service got worse. It was time for my husband and I to exit out. We are going with Xfinity (Comcast).

Xfinity is the better option if it's available. Satellite internet service is second to cable or DSL, or any unlimited or very high data cap service and, is best for those of us that have no other options or, at best dial up as our only alternative.

On a side note, as of today, even dial up is not an option for me as AT&T no longer offers even landline phone service to my road - the two people that had landlines got theirs cut off today so, cell phone which at best gets one bar of signal if you are in the right place on this 12 mile stretch of road or, VOIP via satellite internet is the only option out here now. For me Exede is the best option and, I'm quite happy with the service.

Today was the day my service with EXEDE was reset, only 3 days before I cancel EXEDE with a new provider, and already I have much less than 1 GB! I keep buffering and hardly get online. I only used maybe 3 GB today out of 10. I am not happy with EXEDE. Even when I have priority data it's beyond slow.

I thought a landline service was guaranteed by law.

Technically yes but there's a loophole. A telephone company must provide service to everyone well, ATT owns DirecTv so, they can provide service via their partnership with Exede and, therefore Exede voice. Never mind that the people who lost their phones can't afford Exede (welfare or social security for income and, they can't get Exede with Voice for the 24.00/month they paid for their low income land lines.

A normal, not low income phone here form ATT is 80.00 per month, they were loosing money with those two homes, and having to maintain the old aluminum wiring out here so, now the ONLY phone here is cell or VOIP via satellite.

It should not be that slow unless you are out of data for the month, then yes when your beam is heavily congested, it can be that slow to some servers but the server also makes a difference. Withing the space of 5 minutes I can get speeds ranging from 20Mbps to 200Kbps depending on the server and test I use.

According to the current data I only used 1.8 GB out of 10 GB. This is way too slow for priority data. I just now tested my Mbps and it's only 1.7.

I looked at my data usage this morning since last night and I used 4.1 GB out of my 10, and my net was beyond slow, so slow my TV kept buffering for like 10-15 minutes and I had no wi-fi to use the net! It was the same as if I used up my priority data. It was never like this in the beginning. Their Liberty Plans have gotten worse. I'm glad I'm getting rid of EXEDE. I would never recommend them.

I wish there was an alternative, exede sells you on speed and then hides when you call them on lack thereof.
