unable to connect

why will a roku connect that is 20 feet from the router and the other one is like 40 feet away and will not connect it is a pain in the butt.. never had these problems with att moved 1 mile yes 1 mile down the road and had to go with another internet so not happy with exede at all

You are blaming something on exede which is clearly an issue with your router, not exede.  If one specific device does not connect to your router, while other's do, guess what, it's that device and/or router's issue, not exedes.  My first guess would be you are attempting to connect on the second, farther away Roku on a short distance 5ghz band, you may be able to connect on the longer distance, but less stable, 2.4 ghz band.  How do to this varies greatly by device and router, and I've never had a Roku, and, have no clue what type of router you have, so how to implement this up to you, or to someone else who's familiar with the Roku.

It sounds like your new house is laid out a bit differently, and your router signal is having difficulty going the 40 foot distance. As Starring Matter said, the 5 GHz band has a more limited effective distance than the 2.4 GHz signal.
