Internet has slowed down to unbearably low speeds over the past several days. Have considered using smoke signals to communicate with the outside world. What can be done besides switching to a different provider?

first, try running a test form your computer, not a cell phone. Cell phones can be far slower over wifi than your actual speeds.

What del bert hasn't mentioned is that he is not on Exede, but a ground based ISP.
He is just messing with your mind.

Sebastin, if these are the speeds you are getting at all hours of the day, especially in the mornings or early afternoon, then you might need the Exede folks to take a look at your modem and see if you need a service call.
Send them an email at exedelistens@viasat.com. Include your account number and a phone number, along with your description of your slow speed problem.
