Trouble with speed

In the past week our internet has been REALLY slow. In the past 2 days, pages like: ebay, craigslist, accelerlist, exede, etc. struggle to load and have to be reloaded over and over again. As soon as you click a link on a loaded page to go to a second page you have to reload and reload again and again for THAT page. It's AWFUL!

Have you used all your data allotment for this cycle? That would cause that kind of a slowdown.

Hi Jenny,

I definitely understand your concerns regarding speeds. Please verify whether or not you have reached your data consumption for the month as this would cause a drop in speeds once your limit is reached. If you would like for us to further review your account please send us your account and contact info to exedelistens@viasat.com or give us a call at 866.945.3258

My service goes back to the original WIDLBLUE satelite and can remember the days when I exceded my data plan and was greatly restricted speed wise - some WEB sites took forever to load to the point that I just gave up. My comments are here are general in a sense that being aware of many complaints about speed, Liberty PASS, data useage from my viewpoint it seems that maybe some of these BEAMS, i.e. Viasat 1, service areas are OVERSOLD and/or being abused by former "city folks" who are used to unlimited high speed internet - probably a combination of both. In the past, if my memory serves me right, Wildblue would stop selling service in areas where there is alot of congestion - I know that Viasat is monitoring and should be aware of these current areas with Viasat 1, and needs to make money to show a decent ROI, invest in future expansion (Viasat 2, Viasat 3). It maybe true that they have the ability to tweak some things, apply some lessons learned into Viasat 2's and Viasat 3's design/configuration - AND deal with current issues/complaints - my faith is still STRONG. There are still some rough roads ahead but in my dealings with their service desk/support personnel - no complaints, very courteous, and great support.

Gregory, there are many of the beams where ViaSat has stopped selling Exede because they are reaching saturation.

Thanks Steve, I really enjoy participating in this forum - learned ALOT from your comments as well as several other "Champions" and of course Exede employee participants.

This is the type of error I have been getting repeatedly. We're on the Evolution 10 plan so surfing should never slow/count towards usage, and we've only used 28% of our data and only have 4 days left. Below happens with exede, craigslist, accelerlist, ebay, and many more. Facebook works a little slower but doesn't give these types of error messages below. Also, I found out ANOTHER local customer has had the exact same problems/issues in the past 2-3 days just like us.

The help.exede.net page isn’t working

help.exede.net didn’t send any data.

My exede internet is also very slow at the moment. Speedtest.net shows 0.47 Mbps up and down. This is during my unmetered usage period (12AM-5AM)(Currently 01:24AM). I have exceeded my monthly bandwidth, so i expect to be slow during the metered times. But this slowness during unmetered times is not normal.
