Trouble with congestion

Big problem, but supposedly nothing they can do? ok past few days rite at 12 midnite (LNFZ) MY SPEEDS DROP DRASTICALLY TO 2-4 MBPS so I call in talk to support troubleshoot they say call back tomorrow talk to tier 2 they have to "Adjust" something but the guy temporarily fixes it and my speeds go back to normal but he said its temporary it will drop back. so after 5 times  being hung up on. I finally get tier 2 guy troubleshoots and does everything , sorry nothing else we can do about it must be congestion on the beam, congestion 24/7? sorry nothing he can do... ran speed test wow 1-2mbps, this is unacceptable and nothing yall can do? if yall want the bill paid I expect it to be fixed or no money better come out of my account or it will be fraudulent.
 sick of hearing "everything looks good on our end"  meanwhile speed test showing completely different. sorry but 1-6mbps is not congestion and is definitely not acceptable.

exact same problem......3 nights 1-4mbps speed called in every night.......pathetic

also to add info to this.....speed tests at 11pm are 12MB+ 12am speed tests are 1-4Mbps and watching graph in router it looks to me like they are purposly capping us otherwise I would see spikes higher which im not seeing.

ESVT is not showing any congestion for my node also.......everything is green.

one more thing to add.........at aproximantly 1am speeds magically return to normal........which is another reason I think your capping my speed 12-1am

at least you get Teir 1 that can actually do something besides rebooting modem when you tell them you already did it twice before calling.

not to mention had to step by step exlain to rep how I had access to esvt........she told me "This company does not give out access to this software"  Im like Yes you do and had to show here where it was on forum........she thought I was some sort of hacker lol

1:30am and back to full speeds after latest reboot.......think thats 5th time ive restarted tonight.

they think that rebooting is the solution for everything and it is not, good start, but after you reboot 30+ times in one day and the problem is still there DUH! its obvesly an issue lol and actually tier 1 has helped more than tier 2. at least tier 1 can "temporarily" speed it up, tier 2 basically said they can but they wont and sorry but nothing else we can do for ya. but yea it started 3-4 nites ago at LNFZ as you mentioned in a earlier post .so I also am 99 percent sure they are purposely throttleing since " everything look good on their end"  "everything is green" so why the slow speeds if not throttled? I think if they would announce they were doing it most people would not get so ticked off, but they insist on wanting you to "upgrade to a bigger package" or talking to people like they are clueless how computers,networking,ect works. or I have been talk to like a complete dumbask to the point I had to hang up on the rep, also talking over the customer is very rude had to hang up on those type of reps as well. I seen the screenshot of one of the champions on here awhile back getting 99mbps so they can't say they can not adjust the speed or else everyone would get roughly the same speeds. not saying turn everybody up but in my opinion anything under 6mbps is hogwash. I am waiting replys from the champs on this one and I can probly guess they will close this topic as they keep closeing unresolved cases ALOT.

I see the same symptom on my beam between 12:00 AM - and 2:00 AM, speeds pick up after that without any rebooting. My own personal opinion is that it's all of the automatic download schedulers and NightShift downloads that are scheduled to start promptly at 12:00 AM and take advantage of the LNFZ - as a result I defer any heavy lifting until 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM. Even then things continue speeding up gradually as 5:00 AM approaches.

P.S. I don't have access the eSVT tool but suspect the indicators aren't real time but rather historical. I was the one posting the 99 Mbps speed test result and as noted at that time described it as a fluke in testmy's algorithm (resulting from a couple of false measurement reading point skewing the overall result - either that or I was actually getting 1.4 Gbps for a brief portion of that test and neither my router nor adapter are rated at that speed).

but this is 24/7 no matter the time of day or nite so has nothing to do with congestion it started at LNFZ the past 4 nites but then after I complained it was 24/7, why the hell do they edit the topic that is not what I put and is not true I have proof people are being throttled even a rep admitting that via phone call that I did record and I will give any proof to whoever needs it if I must. I am done playing games either the bs stops or I will cancel all services with exede and will not be paying a dime for breach of contract

Same here, ESVT bubbles are all green but, the customer education bubble is blue and, hovering over it tells me that congestion may intermittently be affecting my speeds. Yep, those download schedulers are killing me, with school out more kids and college students are home and, they want thier games, movies, music and such so, they are using the LNFZ heavily.

see im on a beam that has little congestion and like I said im 12mbps+ at 11pm at 12am it drops to 4mbps.   That isnt congestion that is a cap.  I only really use the internet during the freezone so this is a problem for me.  if your gonna give me 1/3 the speed for half my freezone then I should only have to pay 1/3 the monthly fee for half the month.  So change my billing amount too ($30*.333)+$30 or to save you a calculator thats $40.

Also all esvt is green for me included no issue when hovering over customer knowledge.

Also in response to old labs........see I used to think the same thing......but then I notice that speeds are not variable.  If it was congestion you would see low and high peeks.  I litterly flatline at 4mpbs.  for the whole period.  And like I said 11pm(when there should in theory be more congestion) im getting normal speeds.  Check and see if you don't believe me :P

Do you rally think you're going to get an official reply on a social media forum? This isn't a support forum - except for that which is peer to peer, but you're getting warmer... just replace marketing gimmick with marketing strategy.

I'd hazard a guess that the large majority of subscribers on my beam are still on the classic plans. You were never paying for speed, you were paying for data - the free zones were free data - beats paying $10 per GB regardless of speed.

For the most part you guys are complaining to the choir who have been experiencing it for far longer than you have.

Old Labs,

I came to exede to get high speed internet from hughes BECAUSE they offered the freezone.  So yeah its a major selling point for me.  Like I said for me its not gradual like it is for you.  Speedtests at 11pm are Fantastic and speedtests and 12am are terrible.  The isnt congestion that is a blatent cap.  Add in the fact that they made this change 3 or 4 days ago.

Maybe your on a beam that is actually congested.  I do not know.  I can only speak for beam i am on.

when freezone starts its like someone is flicking a switch from 12mbps+ to 4mbps.

This is not acceptable.......I pay for netflix and expect to be able to stream 5 hours a day during my freezone and I cant.

All this cap is doing is pushing the slow speeds from autodl's further into the freezone.  Sure they get a huge spike in traffic at 12am.  But if they used queue order kinda protocol like they told me they do.  There would be increased speed after a reboot.

After a reboot I still flatline at 4mpbs.

To be clear this is not data congestion this is exede trying to manage traffic by placing a cap on your internet speed to manage there network usage.  That is a big difference.

If it was congestion I would not be bitching cause I signed up for that and am aware that it can happen.  THIS IS NOT A CONGESTION ISSUE.

One more thing to add is that when I called in I asked if beam is congested and rep said no.

phinneus, what part of the fact that many people are using download scheduling software that kicks in at midnight, the start of the LNFZ? That is what is causing the congestion. Exede is not throttling their network at that time, the Exede subscribers are.

ok back to my statement......maybe you missed it.

Reason I know this........well many......and seeing I like to repeat myself here it goes again.

1. An hour before freezone im getting 12mbps+ speeds
2. When my speeds are capped at 4mbps I see no signs of congestion is esvt.
3. Speeds dont gradually drop.......its like a switch is flipped.
4. Exede rep states there is no congestion.
5. After modem reboot which puts me at front of queue I see same exact speeds.

Ive been a member of exede for around 3 years. I have talked to countless reps.  Just cause exede dont admit to the caps dont mean they dont exist. and they were added 3-4 days ago.

You can continue being fanboys but your blatently wrong. I dealt with congestion on my old beam so I know what im talking about.

once more incase you missed it.
