I have researched this, and with the terrible lack of stability of a dish, the flow restrictions imposed by Exede, and the serious overpricing; this product is a SCAM RIP OFF!

Hi John,
When you mention "terrible lack of stability of a dish".

You mean you received a bad install job and the installer just duck-taped your new dish to a cardboard box and set it in the front yard?

And the "the flow restrictions imposed by Exede".

Are you referring to the data caps? 5-10-15 and 25 Gig's per month. I, and everybody else desire more Gig's. Myself, I want my own beam, the rest of you can use dial-up.

Then of course, "the serious overpricing".

I assume you are referring to and comparing with Hughes net Gen4.
Exede is: 10 gig for $49.99 - 15 gig for $79.99 - 25 gig for $129.99.
Hughes is: 10 gig for $59.99 - 15 gig for $79.99 - 20 gig for $129.99.

Now the best part: "SCAM RIP OFF". Please tell me you did not purchase this service after reading the contract and service agreement.

Say it aint so John.

If you have some real facts, I'm all ear's.

If your just scamming me, well. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Everett

Hi Everett I know this is NOT nice but I'm sitting here laughing at your answer. A good laugh makes me feel better.

Sorry John. I know it's not funny you are upset with service. But Everett is funny if you have a sense of humor.

Not much to go on here but since you mention Dish, you may want to ensure your Dish receiver isn't accessing your Exede internet connection.

A month ago I switched to Dish from DirecTV and the installer asked for my wireless router's access password so he could enable some Dish "features" - knowing that those are a data usage nightmare to start, I explained to him that that wasn't going to happen and to forget about it.

Just a thought...

OK, Duck-guy.  It's common knowledge to everyone except you that satellite reception is at best, dependant on the weather - NOT dependable.  I am paying $25 per month for 18G ATT Uverse.  You can't possibly think I am stupid enough to sucker for this crap.  And that's a fact, Duck.

Duck-guy?? Seriously? I'm thinking more Mountain-guy. or Swamp-guy. But being from Colorado it seems, I'll go with the former

Respectfully, Dog-guy ;)

The only way you could make me even consider your product would be to make satellite reception dependable (you can't), remove ALL the data caps (we don't want to buy half an internet connection) AND most importantly set the price at what the product is worth.  Your sporadic, restricted 20G product is only worth about $15.00 per month.  I am having a good one with more dependable connection, unlimited data downloads and most importantly at a reasonable price from AT&T.

I can definitely take a look into the connectivity issues you are having to see what can be done about the sporadic nature. Our service works wonders for some and not so great for others but problems that arise can be solved with a little help.

I'm not having any problems, because I have ATT.  I see what another thread meant by "canned responses."  I'm warning people who might not research your over priced undependable product.

John - Not sure what you meant by "lack of stability of a dish".  I have only had one service call in over 9 years and that was at my request to upgrade to the newer satellite. Obviously you must have a properly installed/aligned system to get good performance.  If you can indeed get unlimited Internet for a "reasonable" price, you would indeed be foolish to sign up for satellite Internet.  Anyone who has spent 10 minutes researching the subject on the Internet should be able to figure that one out.

It sounds to me from his posts that he is not and never has been a Exede customer. I get the young teenager vibe from his posts.

David, I have thought the same thing about a few of the forum post. From first post to last, is name calling.

When asked for any details as to their problem, just more name calling. Offers to help are answered with innuendos of your an employee, a shill, and so on.

Kimberly and the other Exede rep's are constantly offering to look into their problems and issues, but I bet they never get the requested email back.

If I could see where they provided just one real detail of an issue that is Exede's problem, I would back them all the way to the home office.

I agree I am having the same issue. I purchased the service 8 days ago and just now had a chance to test it out. After 2 days of the service I ran a speed test and had used 80% of my monthly data plan. Besides the 25MB supposedly I was getting the speed test gave me 6MB down and 1.2MB upload speed. I called customer service to cancel and they tell me I have to pay $345 cancellation fees. Hmmm, this is bogus and I will make sure this is know.

Hello Tyjon, I’m sorry you feel this way; I can certainly understand your frustration concerning your unknown data usage. I would be more than happy to take a look at your account to locate what could’ve possibly used your data so quickly. Please send your account and contact information to exedelistens@viasat.com. Thank you
