Service is awful. Speed is not as advertised and the connection is spotty at best. Not to mention, if there is just a hint of rain, then you will have no internet fro about 24 hours.

I agree with VetSat.  If you're losing connection often, and especially with a touch of rain, something is wrong with the installation.  Give Customer Care a call, run some troubleshooting with them, they will be able to see if there is an issue with your dish alignment, coax run, etc, and get a tech out there to fix it!

You are completely right very few good days at best very over rated ! We've had it for 3 months and it's been down more than it works tec support is a joke with no answers we are looking for another company. Viasat has no speed for streaming anything without major buffering and that is when it is working with isn't very often

Have you been able to get out of your service contract? We just renewed for 24 months because we were told upgrading to the new satellite would prevent issues. We have been on the service for 5+ years and never had any major issues till the last few months. Super pissed we will have to pay cancellation fees after being customers for over 5 years.

If you are on the new satellite, it might be related to the built-in router. I would completely bypass the built-in wifi and connect to the modem via directly or your own router.

Sadly no.  Each post is a new account with a different email address.

Ugh.  I hope that, in the future, if ViaSat goes in a different direction with their support community, the community accounts can be tied to the person's ViaSat account, and that no one without a ViaSat account can sign into said Community.  Granted, it might keep out some people who have genuine knowledge and who could be helpful, but who aren't ViaSat customers, but it would cut down on this scam link type of thing, as you would know exactly who was doing it.

That would keep me out - NRTC and don't have a Viasat account... but maybe that would be a good thing.

Yeah, that would be the one major drawback.  Not having folks like you who have a lot of technical knowledge.

It's hard to tell how much it's hurt the HughesNet Community in that regard, but it is nice not having to deal with posts like that.   Whether it's worth it, in the end, is hard to say.

I doubt it.  I think with any method that you choose it still requires an active HughesNet account number to set up the Community profile.  I just tried signing in by using Facebook and it asked me for my account number as the next step.

You would be correct. This is awful. This service is the worst I have ever used. It is a Scam. I pray daily that this company goes in dept one day and pays for this garbage. AT@t is installing a new rural internet service by the end of the year called 5g fixed wireless internet. You would be best off trying that out sometime.

I hope I was a better help than the rest of these Jokers, (champions).

I have always had great internet from Wildblue/Exede/Viasat. Good luck with your AT&T internet if and when it becomes available to your area.

Here in rural NY state, AT&T has extremely poor coverage, if any. AT&T has no interest in trying to cover this hilly and even mountainous area, they concentrate on the large population area and the flat terrain.

I am one of those folks you are disrespecting by your unnecessary name calling.

I have heard good things about AT&T's fixed wireless internet however. However, you might be referring to AT&T's cell coverage.

It’s a new thing that will work similar to cell coverage. Right now it is known as 4g and will be upgraded and promising speeds of 5g 100mbps. It will be put on telephone poles and other stuff. Look into it.

You never would, nor could, be as helpful as even the least of the Champions is or has been.

Champions actually help people with the issue's they're experiencing.  They don't spew blind rhetoric and put down people who have been helpful for a long time.  Big difference.
