Terrible speeds in LNFZ now.

After about 2 AM till about 3:30 AM all I can pull is about 300-600 KB/sec , when normally I see 2.2 Mbps (about 2000 KB/sec) .  Anyone else having a tough time running a download then browsing ?

I sure hope this doesn't lead to  LNFZ caps.  That'd be account termination for me.

For me the answer is yes; however I'm chalking it up to increased traffic associated with the holidays for now while hoping for a return to normalcy next week when everbody goes back to work/school and needs to get some sleep. Speeds during the LNFZ have been all over the map for me over the past week - and more consistent during the day.

this is the reason they cant just set people free with the amount of GB of usage you get or this would be even slower ALL the time

There once was just a little over a month the data cap was turned off.  I cleared out my steam folder and downloaded about 300 GBs in 1 day in a half.. Only came out 20 GBs ahead in disk space.. but hey.. And still the sat internet didn't explode .  Or go this slow..

Yep, Sonya, nothing like being shown by example why increasing data limits might not be such a good idea.

With newer technologies allowing leveraging the LNFZ (and EBFZ) to a greater extent, I wouldn't be surprised to see those become "unusable" from a speed perspective.

But that should be solved with the launch of DeathStar-2 in 2016 at least for a couple of years ;)

Name,  I remember those days 1-1/2 to 2 years ago but subscriber count wasn't as high then.

P.S. I remember those days only because it was the last time I got any sleep between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

I remember that time too. However, back then the sub count was under 300,000, now it is in excess of 660,000. The LNFZ was a high speed joy until so many people started using the scheduling programs for downloading, thus self inflicted slower speed because of data overloads. But it still beats the new HughesNet Bonus Bytes Zone, limited to 50 GB, go over that, and they charge against your daytime data. And they are also going through the speed slowdown during the early morning times. We just have to be so thankful that Exede offers the free zones.

Maybe they should do something simple, like quit selling bandwidth they don't have ?

Hi TheName141, I can take a look at your connectivity on my end, as well as check your LNFZ. Please send me an email to exedelistens@viasat.com to further assist.
