Nothing wrong with the install. The angle the signal is coming in from the satellite is about 45 degrees so the house would have to be 2-story to be an issue. For anyone who wonders if the power lines are in the way.....NO. The skew on the dish means that it is actually looking to (if you are standing behind it) the upper/right of what you think it is looking at. The tria is the original tria we used to use before the Etria and are using as replacements now for svc calls.

From the original post it was somewhat suggesting it was a new/recent install - and he hastily canceled almost immediately after the install, resulting in a $330 charge which sounds about right - 24 month cancel fees, 1 month lease, partial month, taxes, etc. He's got another surprise coming if the equipment isn't returned...

Over the years I've been here and elsewhere, many have mistaken where the TRIA is pointing for where the dish is pointed - others have misstated the dish is pointed directly at my house assuming the same.

Assuming it's Viasat-1 and depending on where he's at, that elevation angle could be anywhere from around 31 to 45 degrees - the dish looks on the higher side of that to me. On Viasat-1 elevation angle increases as you move west. The opposite is true on Viasat-2. Latitude also comes into play as you move north to south. Whre I'm at Viasat-1 is at around 31 and Viasat-2 at 44.5.

Regardless he should contact Matt B as requested to sort out the snafu - now that all of the automated gears have started to move- good luck.

I was going to be kind and not make any comment on the house. But the roof is nice! I wonder if it was just done and the dish was moved off the roof now?

Could very well be. We can't mount to a metal roof.

From the look angle of that dish, it is clearing the roof by an easy 15-20ft. You can't look at the arm......that's not doing the aiming, it's job is to simply hold the tria in place....nothing more, nothing less.
