My Surfbeam2 RM4100 Viasat modem has stopped working, when i try to reset it gets no signal.  see attached screenshots:

Any ideas as to the problem? I've pressed the tiny reset button but no change..
could it be the tria?

If I need a replacement modem (found an SM2101 model used on ebay) would that be acceptable replacement? I really don't want to pay the almost €300 for a new one if this one is bricked..

Any and all ideas will be great.

You can't buy one yourself.  Only Viasat can replace it for you.  The ones you buy will not work.  You need to have a service call and they will check your set-up and determine what has gone wrong.

Although it's a Viasat product, it appears you're a Tooway subscriber, you'd probably need to contact Eutelsat for replacement.

Very well could be the tria, and not the modem.

Don't buy a modem off eBay, it will be worthless whether it is bricked or not.

Hi Brantbear

I would agree with the posts above. Since you appear to be with Tooway you'll need to contact them whom I believe are our counterpart there to replace it.  DO NOT buy a modem online. Those are encoded to our service only and are provisioned to individual accounts, you'd basically be paying for a paperweight if you did that.
