They are the same company: http://www.exede.com/customer-portal and you should always only be paying for one service, be it either Exede or WildBlue.  Depending on your location, you might be able to upgrade the current plan you have with WildBlue to a larger Exede plan that is listed as available in your area, and that Exede plan might even be the same price or less.  If you have already done an upgrade, then the new plan you have should replace the old plan you upgraded from and you should only be paying for the new plan.

Hi John

Xode0000 is correct. This is the same company and since you are now upgraded you are only paying one bill. Wildblue is a bit outdated so it's a good thing you're on Exede now. We can more easily troubleshoot if you call in, you can add data, you will see faster speeds and in a few short months you may have options that may blow the current plan out of the water once ViaSat 2 is active for our customers. Feel free to email us at exedelistens@viasat.com if you have any questions

Some people on Exede think they are on Wildblue because "Wildblue" is printed on the dish. In the early days of Exede the dishes still had "Wildblue" printed on them.

I switched from Wildblue to Exede in April 2012. My dish is one of the oldies with Wildblue printed on it.

Some of us still have @WildBlue.net email addresses even though we have Exede internet service. WildBlue, Exede both Viasat provided internet service.

I think of WildBlue as the grandfather of Viasat Internet service, it's old, slowly dying. Exede is the 30 something son of WildBlue, younger, in better shape, the one you want to deal with for now. Viasat 2 will bring the next generation of service into the family.

Being on Exede now, puts you in the best position to step up to better when Viasat 2 comes online in a few months.

if you were paying 2 separate bills, wildblue and exede at the same time you were being double dipped for the same service.

And they are re-branding with ViaSat2 doing away with the "Exede" name going to "ViaSat." It reminds of how just as I get to using 2017 it's 2018.

Honestly, it will be nice not to have so many brands to remember what is where and what each offers. I'm just glad we don't have Tooway customers in here too. :) (No bright ideas about cross pond integration either EXEDE people around here. :P )

I don't want to have to pull out ye old translator to try and help people.

No, Exede vs. WildBlue has no effect whatsoever on what is installed on your computer. If odd things are showing up, make sure you scan for virus and other malware/adware with a good Antivirus program.

I will second Bev and Exede Diana here.  You definitely want to do and antivirus and antimalware scans.  However, I recommend that you also do those scans from a known clean computer which has the hard drive from your existing computer hooked up as a slave device.

johnmeyers,

By all means scan, but there's a chance that it's simply a mislabeled or corrupted desktop shortcut as you've described here  - assuming Windows, right click on the shortcut, display its properties, verify it's actually pointing at Google Chrome  and change the label to something more appropriate if the scan shows nothing. Failing that create an all new shortcut for it.

Hi Johnmyers, No, Pentasap is not associated with ViasSat/Exede.  You may want to do a virus scan.

"generated by PentaSAP for the PentaSAP Accounts Payable 810 Invoice"

"The invoice and payment system, called PentaSAP, was designed by Walldorf, Germany-based SAP. "

Seems to be a program to generate invoices?

PentaSAP is software used by many companies, large and small, to handle invoices. I am not sure how it made its way on to your computer johnmyers.
