Many of us are not getting near what we pay for, lots of customers will be leaving when contracts are up.

Run your video streaming speed at fast.com and see what your actual video streaming speed is. 11Mbps should stream 720 fine.

Make sure you have the video settings on your streaming service set to AUTO.  720p means different things to different services.  Don't set the stream to 720p.  I believe Gold streams at about 3mbs. Please do as david suggests and run a video speed test at www.fast.com.  Do it several time to get an average.

I have been having a terrible problem with speeds this week. Attempting to download a video for a class I am taking (during LNZ) and it fails repeatedly. When it does finally begin to load it is ridiculously slow l - 2 kb/sec. Have jumped through all of the hoops with disconnecting reconnecting, by passing router, etc. Yesterday I tried a download during the regular hours and it was the same thing so the slow speeds are not just during LNZ. We are on the Evolution plan and have been pretty satisfied with Viasat until lately. Thought things were supposed to improve with new satellite, etc. Pretty sad service lately.

It will take some time to move people off of VS1 to VS2.  It could take months, not days. They have already asked people to voluntarily move to the new satellite.

Thanks for the info Jim. I haven't received any info other than asking me to try the new Sparrow browser.

I asked to be moved, not yet and it would require another 2 year contract

I have run several different speed test this morning - wild flucuations from very slow to fairly fast. The upload speeds seem much, much slower than they should be 0.91 - 0.95.

Just now: Testmy.net download speed  4.2, fast.com streaming test 3.1.

I'm on the 25 Silver plan at a reasonable price, and i can live with these speeds.  Some time in the near future (45- 60 days) i think the speeds posted above will be consistent speeds during prime time, with significantly higher speeds during other times.
