When will speedboost 25 be available for beam 341? Online gaming sucks and I could really use the extra speed so I could stop missing out on online games with my friends.

I don't think that extra speed is going to make any difference. Also, it probably won't be much faster anyway as loaded as the beams are and the ping times are probably hurting worse on games than the speed.

It's unlikely we'll see any significant plan changes with regard to speed or data until the next satellite is launched and subsequently place into service (tentatively next year). But as David suggests, the inherent latency of satellite internet is the challenge for many gamers - as long as satellites are 22,000 miles away that latency will always be there.

Ditto.  Ditto.  Speedboost 25 will not improve online gaming.

Thanks for the input guys. As far as gaming goes, that's the only downside of satellite Internet. As far as the speed and reliability, I've experienced very limited issues. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

Some games work well, some fail miserably over satellite and, most are somewhere in the middle. Your friends with cable or even DSL have pings of under 100 MS, you have a MINIMUM of 700 MS and usually more than that, hence the lag you experience.

That's the laws of physics, nothing Exede or anyone can do about that. Find games that do well under high latency and ask your friends to play those. Rift comes to mind as one that works well via Exede.

Not to parrot what's being said, but it probably has more to do with the ping rate than speed. Unfortunately a satellite way up in space will always have a high ping rate. We do have some success with other games. We have a gamer that has a ongoing thread on here of which games work fine and which don't. I believe a lot is on here. might at least point you in a direction of which ones are worthwhile https://community.exede.com/exede/topics/tell-us-about-your-gaming-experience-with-exede-internet
