Speed comparisons between VS1 12meg svc and VS2 12meg svc. Actual numbers

Hi all. Haven't posted in a few months, mostly because I didn't really have anything of benefit to offer. I am located in a big beam area which went live Friday. Finally got it online today....terrible install debacle, but that's my problem, not the end user. Anyway. I still have my Viasat 1 modem hooked up and now have my new Viasat 2 modem hooked up. Both are hooked to the exact same model type of Netgear router...I wanted to make sure I was comparing apples to apples. The speed test I got on the VS2 was 15-17 megs using Network Multimeter on my phone. However, I decided to test actual download speeds so I opened up my MP4 downloader program and downloaded the SAME video file TWO times using BOTH systems. My VS1 connection downloaded it at 650-750mbps, my VS2 connection never got above 80mbps. Once again, I downloaded the same file twice with both connections, the results were identical.

Now as far as watching videos or browsing the web, both function basically the same although some pages seem to open slightly faster with VS2.

Anyway, that's the straight scoop. Didn't want anyone to hear any false information of faulty data.

Got to admit, since I am probably one of the first persons on this big beam, beam 144, I was really expecting better results. It is what it is.

BTW, I just spent some time reading some of the threads and there were several comments about contacting a dealer. Listen, I AM a dealer.....been an Elite dealer for 4 continuous years and I'm on the Viasat Dealer Council which is composed of just 7 total members, so you don't get much more connected than me. We dealers have been left totally in the dark and weren't even told, officially, that the big beams were turned on until 1pm on Friday which was 12 full hours AFTER it was turned on.
In other words, please don't hassle your local dealer, they are beyond stressed out and feeling pretty abandoned.
