My GMAIL account is being hit by 100 spam messages per day.  Doesn't that affect by bandwidth allocation for the month?  There are services out there that will change the MX settings and block these spam messages. Is this a good approach?

Unless you are reading the messages, they will not be counted toward your quota. If you delete the messages without opening them, it doesn't count.

This is because, before you read them, the emails are sitting on the GMAIL server and haven't been transferred to you. When you open the emails, they are sent over to you and your quota is hit.

Hi John,  Email messages do not use much data unless there are pictures or videos that are opened and viewed . Move them to your spam folder in GMAIL and delete them. The impact on your data will be very small in the kb range. If you have any additional questions, please call 855-463-9333 or send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com and include your account and contact information.  Thanks
