However after troubleshooting less then 56k download speeds on many occasions I was reminded that the contract I signed which refers to the companies download speed possibilities ....a person gets what can be provided at any given time which can be almost nothing in terms of speed. Lesson to be learned..always READ contracts thoroughly and understand that regardless of what a sales rep tells you that the contract tells you what can be expected under the worst of issues.

I have had Exede for almost four years now and I've never experienced it being "slower than dial-up" It's actually pretty dang quick compared to a lot of the providers I've had before. And I've used up all my data before too and yes it slows you down a lot but you can browse FB and stuff like that as long as you don't wanna watch video. You had Hughes Net and I don't have any experience with them but they're all together pretty much. My only complaint is they don't offer unlimited plans. You can't really stream Netflix and things like that very much or you'll go over your limit. You can upgrade your plan but the prices are too high and you'll still go over if you try to stream a lot of stuff. I hope this helped you good luck! I'm sure they will get you set up I never had a bad experience with customer service reps either!

Hughesnet gen 5 card came in mail, 10 gigs, 20 gigs, 30 gigs, and 50 gigs plus 50 Gigs between 2:00 am till 8:00 am. I paid 130.00 for it. Exede is 150 Gigs all day for 105.80. Exede wins!

Don: Where is 150 gigs in the Exede plans? I don't see it?

Mark: I ran out of data once and purchased an additional 10 gigs. I/2 hour later, Exede was saying I was out of gigs again. Seems like a bit of a scam to me.

Even though we are gone all day long and do little to no streaming of movies, little to no streaming of music, Exede tells us we use about 2 gigs of data a day.  I used to have the larger plan and bite the bullet and pay for more, but their data measurement has grown even more suspect over time.  This month, we used 12 gigs in five days even though there is no one home twelve hours a day.  Unless our dogs are streaming movies while we are gone, there is zero possibility of our family of 3 using that much data that quickly.  Yes, our wifi is password protected.

Hi Suzette,  To help you understand the Liberty Plan, here is a link http://help.exede.net/articles/General/What-you-need-to-know-about-Exede-Liberty-Plans

"
When you’re using your Priority Data, you’ll get our best 12 Mbps download speeds. If you don’t go over that allowance (and many of our customers don’t), you’ll remain in that best-speed zone. If, however, you use up all of your monthly Priority Data, your Liberty Pass speeds will still be fast enough to allow you to continue to use the internet, with better speeds during daytime hours." - from the article

Give us a call at 855-463-9333 or send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com  with your account number and contact information for a review of your account and discussion of any issues you may have.
