just told nothing can be done about slow internet upload download due to high traffic (congestion) almost felt like I was told use it when traffic is slow like 1-5 am in the morning that's when usage is at its lowest. I guess all those people joining they will have to get used to it also. As for me I'm looking to go back to my reliable slow speed land line if this is what i have to look forward to. with speed test running at 2.3 upload and 1.2 download average for the last month and a half . I'm not paying this kind of money for that poor service

Hello Lauro,I truly understand your frustration concerning your speeds; you may possibly be experience some congestion around which we call “peak hours”, mostly due to the amount of people online simultaneously. These times may be between 4pm to 8pm. If your experiencing slow speeds overtime throughout the day then there may be a definite problem that needs to be reviewed to which I would be happy to do for you. Please feel free to send your account and contact info to

Depending on where you are located, those peak hours can be much longer than from 4 PM to 8 PM.  I find in my area (Virginia) it is much longer - probably from 6:00 PM (time I get home) until 1 AM to 3 AM depending on the day.  Sometimes (less often then not) I get good speeds during that time, but usually that is not the case.

Continue to document the tests and call customer service to confirm congestion at the times you have problems.  Document each of those calls and what you were told as well.  Send an email to the address Lindsey listed and they can also confirm things for you.

Good luck!

I've been stewing over this all week.  Can't even stream Netflix at midnight!  It didn't used to be this way, and if this is the new norm, I'm out of here too.  "Peak hours" are peak for a reason; that's when we need it to be available.  Since this is a fairly new situation, I have to assume the service has been oversold for the satellite.

Changing Netflix in your account settings to stream at it's lowest settings will usually allow you to get a pretty good experience even during prime hours.  As an added bonus it only uses about 300 MB - 500 MB of data per 1.5-2 hours in my experience.
