We switched our Internet to exede just two weeks ago, these guys who came to install our internet said that this (exede) internet speed runs faster than our old ones(frontier), but it has been running very slow since the day we switched to your service and the internet doesn't work some time (on/off) We couldn't even stream a movie, or watch videos in HD, photos and videos takes soooooo long to upload!!! Please do something with this!! We're not paying $69 for this poor connection!!

Exede is UP TO 12 megaBITS per second down and UP TO 5Mbps up, it is also metered service, meaning you only have a certain amount you can use it at those speeds, then you are slowed to speeds of 1 to 5 Mbps and, sometimes even slower during peak times when the most people are using the same beam you are. That's usually 2 PM to 2 AM or part of that time frame at least.

That means streaming video or music is not a good idea for Exede that uses 0.5 to 2 GB of your data allotment in an hour or two. Streaming music uses a lot too and, you don't want to download many large files per month. You need an ad blocker and flash blocker to prevent those things form using up your data allowance too.

Learn a bit about how to manage usage, stay under your limit for the month and, you will see faster speeds.

this is the first company besides HughesNet that I have ever seen that charges for data most internet providers give you unlimited internet access
This is a rip off because they are piggy backing off other internet providers that is why the lousy service

Wireless and satellite providers all limit your data usage only real internet  "landline" providers don't.

Hello Sharon. The reason why we and Hughesnet do this is because we're not "earth-based". Those other companies are and we're not "piggybacking off them" otherwise they'd be available where you live. We are in space on a satellite. Cellphones do that but not us. Basically if a cable or DSL provider wants to or needs to extend their network they just build and install more lines. Since we are in space, we only have as much as the satellite can take (hence data caps because we can only offer so much bandwidth) and the only way to increase our capabilities would be to launch a very very expensive satellite, make plans with a rocket company and schedule a launch (which takes a LONG time). Fortunately we're doing just that because by the end of the year we'll see the launch of ViaSat 2! Shortly after we can see some cool benefits like faster internet, bigger caps, and so on. So stay tuned!
