Dwain, do you mean the Wifi modem? If so an issue with that is being looked into. You can email your account and contact information as well as a description of the problem to exedelistens@viasat.com so that they can get that corrected for you.

Dwain, your best bet is to use a separate wireless router, plugged in to one of the Ethernet ports of your modem. That will work much better than the Exede wifi modem, which has had reported problems with low speed on its wireless part.

Why would excede not want to address the issue with their equipment that we are paying for?

Sheila. I understand what you mean but you have to look at it this way. With many electronic components there may be something that's built in but not necessarily something you want to use IF you want the best experience.
Case in point: All new tvs come with built in streaming software, however it's not very good. If someone wants a good streaming experience they typically buy a Roku. After all, if the built in software was THAT good then Roku wouldn't have a market would they?
Same goes for the built in router. If you want really good, solid service, buy a Netgear router, preferably one of the Nighthawks. The range is unreal and it can handle tons of devices at one time.

you have to take the modem/router, pay the $9.99 per month rental, and IF you use your own equipment, you will not get the 'boost'. Or the exceed easy care.
I've had the Freedom 150GB + boost for 7 days...as I have exceeded the 150GB, today I have nothing. No email, no chat, no TV...
