Very disappointed with the speed we are receiving. We pay big bucks for the Freedom 150 GB - Boost 25 + WiFi
Experience the power of our Freedom Plan. The Freedom 150 GB – Boost 25 + WiFi plan provides an incredible 150 GB of data per month, and is subject to the Bandwidth Usage Policy. With Boost 25, you’ll get download speeds of up to 25 Mbps and the Exede WiFi Modem.Freedom 150 GB - Boost 25 + WiFi
Experience the power of our Freedom Plan. The Freedom 150 GB – Boost 25 + WiFi plan provides an incredible 150 GB of data per month, We don't go anywhere near our limit yet, it is difficult to get even Facebook to download at times. We used to be able to video chat with my grandkids and now it locks up and doesn't work most of the time. Help please! Unhappy and for the money, we should be getting much better speeds than this.

Probably the video resolution downgrader is impacting the ability for this to work for you. Since you can't turn it off with an unlimited plan, unfortunately you can't test that.

Just a guess on my part.

I would chime in, but I have no experience with the Freedom plan. Probably never will now.

I have the Freedom 150 GB - 12 Mbps plan have had it for a while now and love it. I have never gone over 90 GB in any month, but I do love the fact that I can watch my Hulu and Netflix shows in 1080P. 480P on my big screen just doesn't satisfy me.

Have you ever tried 4K streaming on that plan? Just curious if it would even work at 12Mbps. Would have to be pretty solid speeds with no other devices on.

Yea because he got boost and a new modem I misread what plan he was on.

Definitely turn off the video resolution downgrader and see if that makes a difference.

BTW, I was fortunate to get Freedom. It is AWESOME. To give it up for "unlimited" and downgraded video would be very stupid of me. Sorry others won't be able to get it now and I feel sorry for people that gave it up.

that's a good question. It won't be restricted to resolution because it's not one of the unlimited plans. The data extender suggestion above might be a good start. How is everything else running?

FaceTime works fine on 480p throttling for me. Facebook also loads fine. Must be something else. Using a vpn might slow video enough with throttling enabled to make it cut out.

login to your viasat modem and under the wireless tab....advanced... CHANNEL WIDTH...check that you have it set to 40mhz.

Check your UPLOAD speed. Your uploading your video stream. I had trouble with a voip phone sometimes because the upload speed would be too slow for it.

upload speed slow. Turning off the extender did not solve the problem. I don't know how to login to the viasat modem, but want to try that suggestion. It may be our wifi connection, but that is also through Exede. It seems that last couple months have been much worse. How do we check the wifi?

See if you can plug the computer directly into the modem and see if that makes a difference.

Alternately, disable the built-in Wi-Fi and use the old router you had.
