Service Configuration Error

I was wandering if anyone else has seen the service configuration error on the Viasat app when it runs its diagnostics.  I have been getting this error for months and no one can tell me what it is.  I have been having some sluggish service recently weeks to months to be exact.  I have done the modem reboot to many times to count plus several times on the phone with tech support.  Naturally even after several times they want me to do that several times, the last time i was on the phone for 30 minutes, rebooted several times and told I would need to call back later as they are having issues and I am tired of spending time on the phone to be told to reboot.  My numbers don't seem horrible but RX SNR only goes to 9.1 max and cable attenuation seems to fluctuate a lot.  I am trying to figure out if this error the app keeps telling me during diagnostics (which its solution is to reboot the same as everything else) is causing this issue.  The exact error reads : Service Configuration: We have detected a problem with our service configuration.

I have not seen that. I get all green check marks when I run the app. No error messages at all. All I have ever seen is a couple of messages about weather when we had snow or thunderstorms passing through. Sounds like you need your system looked at by someone who knows what they are doing.

Your SNR is fine
Ignore the cable attenuation value unless it has an alert

Give us more detail about "sluggish service"

Right now I am getting 32 x 3 on my 25 x 3 Silver plan
And the app says I have "Connection issue"

Sometimes it seems to be running fine and other times it seems to take forever for websites to load.  The speed I just tested has been the best in a while at 17 x 1 and i have the same silver plan but earlier today it was under 3 just randon

Also forgot to mention some days when it seems to be acting up even basic sites won't load like Google. Will get internet errors and connection timeout or closed errors

Which modem do you have?

Are you using your own router?

Jonathan, send an email with your contact and account information and, a link to this thread to Viasatlistens@viasat.com. Ask them to take a look. It might be a configuration problem or, as mine was with similar symptoms, a few minor on site problems that required a service call to correct.

Try returning the modem to router mode for a couple days to help determine if it is your router causing the problem.

So I put it back in router mode and it seems to be better. Not as many hiccups. Just don't like it can't do 2.4 and 5ghz at the same time. I did receive an email back from viasat saying they do see a possible issue on their end but when they tried to verify by looking at my modem it was off (we had a snow/ice storm a few days prior and they were working on lines and naturally power was off a few hours while they did it and it happened to be when they went to check my modem). I replied back to let them know it was back on and 4 days later I have yet to hear back from them. So it is working better just wish I knew what issue they found on their end
