Has anyone else seen a Facebook ad for internet called sky-fi ? My husband called and set up installation after being told there was not hard data limits and no slow downs..... they said they were subcontracting installation and now I am being billed by viasat have the crappiest internet ever and find out there are limits. One technician was very nice the other was extremely rude and refused to move the satellite that I have no idea how long it had been there because we just bought the house. The satellite points directly at the back of my house. So angry right now I feel like I was tricked into this crappy ass service.

Looks very shady to me and it does appear they may be selling Viasat plans somehow. They only respond privately through Facebook or insist you call for more details - don't even have a valid web site preferring to communicate with Facebook Messenger.
Perhaps you should contact viasatlistens@viasat.com (and include your account an contact info but don't post it here since this is a public forum).

I too was scammed into getting crappy viasat unlimited bronze internet. I was told there was free wifi included in every plan and I could stream video with this service. Lies! Lies! Lies! Quality is not even good enough to stream on tiny smartphone!!! I was also told I had 4 days to decide if I liked the service, also a lie! This was the worst service I have ever had in my life!!! Worst customer service ever also!!!

The Facebook sellers are at it again. Found a guy advertising unlimited high speed Viasat internet for $60 a month. We all know, the cheapest "unlimited" plan is $80 a month before taxes.
He is even promoting the Gold 50 plan, although it isn't available in this area.

Maybe, maybe not - that appears to be one of the current brochures available from Viasat's retailer support and appears he's just quoting the 3 month promo price including lease - if anything he's being more honest by citing the out the door price for the 1st three months ;)

I even found those same plan offerings on an apparent Viasat authorized dealer site for my beam (when there's still no sign of it on the Viasat site - until a few days ago they were both offering the same Viasat-1 plans):

My Bronze Unlimited 12 plan is 70 dollars a month. That's the way it was advertised on my account page when I switched from the Liberty 12/25 a couple of months ago.

Looks like Viasat 2 is available in parts of Tangipahoa but not the whole parish. A search for Hammond (zip code 70403) shows Viasat 1 plans while a search for Amite (zip code 70422) shows Viasat 2 plans.
So it looks like he was right about Viasat 2 being available, it just isn't available for the whole parish.
I still don't like how sellers bait and switch with the introductory price, without telling customers about the rest of the details.
If he signs people up on Viasat 2, they will probably be happy about speeds no matter what plan they are on with the exception of video resolution an the price going up in three months. Anyone he signs up on Viasat 1 won't be too happy, unless they understand exactly what they are signing up for.
It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth seeing use a buy/sell group on Facebook to earn commissions for selling stuff like TV, cellphones, and internet. These groups were never intended for that. They are for people with used stuff to sell such as cars, bicycles, toys, etc...
These groups aren't for someone on the other side of the state, or country for that matter, to make a quick buck while sitting on the sofa doing nothing.

FWIW, Unlimited Plans (WiFi not included) are $5 per month less expensive.

Your Bronze plan is $70 a month, plus another $10 for equipment rental. That adds up to $80 a month.
That's the same price any new subscriber will be paying after the introductory rate is over. People come to this forum all the time saying they are on fixed incomes and their price jumped after three months. It is because someone wasn't honest about the introductory rate when they were signed up. This is the situation that bothers me.

Yes, that's correct. I thought you meant the cheapest plan was 80 before the lease and taxes. I switched because I got 15GB more data for 5 dollars less than I was getting on the Liberty paln.
Of course that is the non-wifi plan as Old Lab mentioned.

It's always best to go straight to the source. That's not to say that there aren't honest resellers out there, but the bad ones give the good ones a bad name, and it's always safest to go straight to the source, as in Viasat themselves.
